Chicago, IL-Today, Mayor Brandon Johnson announced the selection of Anjanette Young and Angelique Guzman to serve on the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA) from candidates put forward by the District Council Nominating Committee. These appointments will fill the seats of Commissioners Aaron Gottlieb and Abierre Minor, whose terms expire in June 2026.
The Nominating Committee advanced a strong group of candidates through a thorough, community-driven process that included broad outreach, structured evaluation, and careful review. The selection of Anjanette Young and Angelique Guzman reflects the strength of that work, and they bring important perspectives and experience to this role. We look forward to supporting their confirmation through City Council.
An additional Commission seat, currently held by Angel Rubi Navarijo, is set to expire in October 2026, with a decision from the Mayor expected in the near future.
