Mission, Vision and Bylaws

Bylaws

Our mission as District Councilors is to create, nurture, and foster, a climate of clarity, trust, and collaboration, between officers of the Chicago Police department and residents within the Second District. We are committed to rethinking traditional approaches to public safety by ascertaining new ideas towards reducing criminal activities, ensuring constitutional adherence by law enforcement through vigilance and oversight, while simultaneously working tirelessly towards rebuilding the bridges of trust between residents of the Second District and the Chicago Police department.

Our vision is that of a vibrant and inclusive city and community where every individual is respected, heard, and treated fairly, when interacting with members of the Chicago Police department. We believe that by investing in human capital and strengthening the social fabric of our community, we can begin to reduce the number of mistakes committed by poorly trained officers, which would help to speed up the healing process between residents and Police in the city and Second District. Finally, we hope to build up and sustain a coalition of invested community stakeholders, in order to provide proactive conversations towards establishing a course of mutual respect for generations to come.
