District Council Nominating Committee to Convene for Selection of Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability Nominees

CHICAGO- The Nominating Committee for the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability is pleased to announce its upcoming public meeting, scheduled for Friday, March 8, 2024. The meeting will take place from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm at UCAN Chicago located at 3605 W Fillmore, Chicago, IL 60624.
Comprised of one member from each of Chicago’s twenty-two Police District Councils, the Nominating Committee is tasked with filling existing and anticipated vacancies on the Commission.
The Nominating Committee will hold a vote to nominate at least fourteen candidates for the first-ever permanent Commission. The Committee will then send the list of nominees to the mayor for consideration for appointment. Per the CCPSA ordinance, the mayor will have 30 days to select seven nominees from the list provided by the Nominating Committee.
