Community Engagement

Rosemarie Dominguez is a force to be reckoned with, hailing from the vibrant community of Little Village. Her roots run deep, as she proudly graduated from Multicultural Arts High School, a place intertwined with her family’s history of advocacy. Building on this foundation, Rosie pursued a dual bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Applied Psychology, and Latin American & Latino Studies, followed by a Master’s in Latin American and Latino Studies, with a focus on critical issues like housing policy, anti-displacement efforts, gentrification, and community access.

With over two decades of dedicated community engagement and activism, Rosie’s commitment knows no bounds. Guided by the values instilled by her parents, who emphasized the importance of giving back, she has become a stalwart faith-based organizer. Her journey has taken her across diverse neighborhoods, from Little Village and Pilsen to Back of the Yards, North Lawndale, and Englewood. Now serving as a community engagement and housing organizer for a non-profit, she embodies the essence of service, evident in her role as the Community Engagement District Councilor.

Rosie’s approach is grounded in the belief that collective knowledge and shared experiences are essential for meaningful progress. She aims to forge stronger relationships across Chicago’s districts and neighborhoods, fostering collaboration to address pressing issues. She understands that we are all integral parts of a larger mechanism, and by working together, we can bring about tangible solutions for the betterment of our communities.
