District Council Nominating Committee to Launch Nomination Process for the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability

CHICAGO- The District Council Nominating Committee invites the community to the historic
announcement and commencement of the nomination process for the Community Commission
for Public Safety and Accountability. The kick-off press conference is scheduled to take place on
Monday, January 8, 2024 at City Hall, Floor 2 (121 N LaSalle Street) at 10:00am.


The event on January 8, 2024 serves as a beacon of opportunity for communities to participate
in shaping the future of public safety and police accountability in Chicago. Members of the
Nominating Committee will share insights into the application process, the nomination criteria,
and the pivotal role the CCPSA plays in fostering transparency, oversight, and community
engagement with law enforcement.

community-centered policing to join us at City Hall on January 8, 2024, as we embark on this
transformative journey toward a safer Chicago,” said Jocelyn Woodards, 11th District Councilor.
