Carmelita Earls is a 31 year, barrier breaking retired Deputy Chief of the Chicago Fire Department. As a 50+ year resident of Chicago’s Westside, Carmelita has represented in various capacities. Educated within the Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges, Northwestern and Dillard University Domains. Carmelita also became an adjunct professor in the City College system. A proud wife of 35 years to Aubrey, a mother of two and grandmother of two has been rewarding. However, Carmelita’s greatest goal in life is to “Die Empty”. As a servant leader of the people, every single breath shall be used to make a difference in someone else’s life.
