Carisa Parker
Community Engagement
Carisa Parker is the proud mom of four amazing young adults and a fierce advocate for health and educational equity. She is currently the Director of Operations for Chicago Family Health Center. She is also the founder of two local non-profit organizations, Moms of CPD and Wonderful Woman Wednesday. Carisa is currently a board member of the Morgan Park High School Alumni Association and works tirelessly to support the needs of current and future Morgan Park students. In addition to these organizations that are near and dear to Carisa, she is a member of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Community Justice Center-South Steering Committee.
Carisa serves the 22nd Police District Council as Community Engagement Coordinator. Recognizing the importance of police accountability, she believes that for meaningful change to take place, participation from community members is key. She is working to use the voice of the people and her community organizing experience to help foster positive relationships with residents and the Chicago Police Department and to ensure equity in policing in our great city.
Carisa holds a master’s degree in public administration from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Science degree in social science with an emphasis on Black diaspora studies from DePaul University.
