Leonardo (Leo) Quintero, a lifelong resident of Pilsen, is a dedicated organizer focusing on youth and family issues within the community, including schools, jails, and funding. With a diverse background as a
substance abuse counselor, street outreach counselor, youth court advocate, and program consultant, Quintero has spearheaded citywide programming ranging from talent shows to intensive outpatient
treatment programs. Maintaining a grassroots approach, he prioritizes community concerns in his work, particularly in public safety.

As a volunteer violence interrupter, he has played a crucial role in establishing treaties between local factions to ensure peaceful events, co-founding the acclaimed Peace In Pilsen initiative recognized for its impact on trauma-informed practices and youth initiatives. Collaborating with leading restorative justice experts, Quintero strives to revolutionize current justice and educational systems for a more equitable future.
