Dion McGill is an educator and activist who has spent the last few years working at the intersection of public health and violence prevention. Dion has previously worked for the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and currently does
communications and marketing in the nonprofit sector. Dion is a licensed Illinois state educator with experience teaching at both the middle and high schools levels. He is also a US Army veteran. Dion holds a BA in Social Sciences from Saint Xavier University, and was a 2022 University of Chicago Civic Leadership Academy fellow.
