Aisha Humphries
Nominating Committee
Aisha Humphries represents the 6th District Council as the Nominating Committee Member. The Nominating Committee is responsible for nominating members to the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA).
As a District Council member, Aisha’s focus is on educating the public about the power and potential of District Councils and the Commission; elevating community voices to improve public safety policies and practices; and increasing collaboration between the police department and the communities they serve.
As a Chicago native who grew up in Auburn Gresham and now resides in Chatham, Aisha is proud to represent both neighborhoods as a Council member. Aisha also serves the community as a board member of the Chatham United neighborhood organization; a beat facilitator with the Chicago Police Department Community Policing program (known as CAPS); a member of Reunite Chatham and Chesterfield Community Council; and a shareholder in the RejuvaNation Equity Development Cooperative.
Outside of the District Council work, Aisha is an entrepreneur and education finance consultant. She is the founder and principal of Playcemeant LLC and Convergent Development Group. She has served in roles as a budget manager for Chicago Public Schools and budget director for Indianapolis Public Schools.
Aisha holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC); a master’s in educational administration from the Broad Center for the Management of School Systems (now part of Yale University); and an MBA from Cornell University.
